In parliament he is a prominent member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Youth Affairs and is the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Shadow Justice Minister.
- he has been lobbying the Co-op Group to engage on the future of the Meridian Centre and has worked with small traders to get indoor markets held there
- he is concerned about the impact of local bank branch closures on local businesses and residents
- he has been lobbying the local councils to urgently address issues of congestion on the A259 and connecting roads
