Breakfast Club
The Chamber currently meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at Woodys Bar & Grill/Golf at Peacehaven for a fabulous breakfast and great networking. >>>
This year's Home & Business Showcase has been put on hold and will return in 2011.
The Committee has taken the difficult decision not to proceed with the Showcase this year. The economic climate has affected many of our members and we believe this is reflected in a lower level of bookings. The Committee considered long and hard the options to go ahead with a Showcase in a different format in order to reduce the cost of stands, but finally decided that a watered-down version of what we had hoped to achieve in building a bigger and better event was a backward step for the Chamber.
Therefore the decision was made to cancel this year’s Showcase and instead to focus on holding several smaller events; this will facilitate member networking in order to promote business. Your committee is keen to explore other options locally to help our members generate business and details of the programme of events will be advertised in the weekly bulletin from the Chamber Secretary. So do make sure you read the notices sent out in order not to miss the exciting opportunities for members that will be coming your way shortly.
In the meantime, more research will be undertaken to look at arrangements for a Showcase in 2011. Having had two successful events, we are committed to holding a premier business event in the future to promote local trade in the area. But we shall be looking to work harder at obtaining sponsorship in order to bring the exhibitor costs down.
